Point it East (270 deg azimuth), and about 55 degrees up.

Or use JAXA app (aim is to point it at the 90-100km point on the trajectory.

If possible, align the long edge of the sensor with the trajectory to capture more of it.

First connect the main DFNEXT camera (DFNEXT040), and give it 5 minutes after boot.


Then connect:

  • video camera straight to USB3 port
  • HDMI cable to portable screen
  • ethernet cable to outside port of the main DFNEXT on bottom port.
  • keyboard and mouse in grey USB leads.
  • finally, power straight on PC board.


To focus, follow instructions here.
